Francisco Vilchez
I am inspired by the idea of establishing a harmonious, existential relationship with the viewer.”
-Vilchez
Renowned throughout Peru as a great artist, the work of Francisco Vilchez is recognized by its unique style and variety of themes. Vilchez was born in the Cajamarca region on January 23, 1960. He moved to Peru to study Fine Arts at the Universidad Católica.
“I would describe my work as prolific and of a good level,” beams Vilchez.
Vichez has presented his work in renowned galleries across Peru. He has also received several awards and honorary mentions. His latest work is known as the “Green Series,” in which he attempts to create a particular jungle through separate canvases. An imaginary fauna inhabits this unique jungle. On the other hand, there is the work that represents the “Classic Vilchez,” creator of dangerously seductive characters that gamble with life.
