Levy started to paint formally in the year 2000, even though he always felt a need to do it. Since a young age he was drawing in a monochromatic style, but his respect for art wouldn’t allow him to start earlier to paint in a professional way. “I knew that I had to commit myself and that made me very afraid”

Some of the recurring personalities in Levy’s work are cows. “All of us are raised like cattle, they tell us what to do, like herds.” For a few years, his residence has fluctuated between New York and Santo Domingo, these changes have been reflected in his work, some filled with Caribbean folklore, of vibrant colors and some colder, influenced by the New York abstract expressionism, but all framed in the urban surroundings: the motor taxis, public cars, the barbershop…
